Timeshare Datashare: Timeshare Rental Prior to Purchase

In the Vacation Timeshare Owners Report, 2009 edition, one
of the new questions in the survey inquires about vacation rental before
purchase. Nearly one in every two recent buyers has rented before buying
(48 percent). Specifically, 29 percent of recent buyers rented at the
same resort where they later bought their timeshare, and 19 percent
rented at a different resort.
In addition, weeks owners are more likely to have
rented before purchasing versus points owners (53 percent versus 41
percent).
