ARP and RRP Designation Program Details

See the current listing of  ARP's and  RRP's

Follow the steps below to earn ARDA's designations- the ultimate distinction among timeshare professionals!

Step 1. ARDA Qualification Test

Order your Timeshare Industry Resource Manual and pass the 75 mutiple choice question AQT (AEI Exam) based on the manual.  This ensures a basic knowledge of ALL aspects of the industry, from its history to financing, sales and marketing, federal and state regulations and ARDA's Code of Ethics.  A great resource tool for anyone in the industry! Plus, after you pass, you get a complimentary year of ARDA Advantage Plus membership- your key to staying in the know of all industry trends and events.  Find out hints and other testing info!

Step 2. Earn Credit

  • After your second year of industry experience, each additional year earns you 0.25 credits.

  • All ARDA conventions and regional seminars offer credits for educational sessions, as listed on credit forms. If you have attended past meetings and would like to get the credit form, please email Darla Zanini.

  • Formal education and certification by accredited institutions of higher learning: 2 year degree - 1 credit, 4 year degree - 2 credits, Master's degree - 3 credits, PhD - 4 credits.

  • Volunteer as an ARDA Ambassador during convention and get .25 per year plus a free admission to sessions and the EXPO hall.

  • ARDY Finalists get 0.5 credits and ARDY Winners get 1 credit.

  • Refer a friend or colleague! If someone you referred applies for their own ARP or RRP, you receive .1 credit.

  • Each year of ARDA Advantage membership earns you .25 credits.

  • ARDA's Independent Study Courses - 1 credit each: Certified Timeshare Supervisor, Hospitality Today: An Introduction, Housekeeping Management, Security and Loss Prevention Management, Bar and Beverage Management, Managing Technology in the Hospitality Industry, Managing Hospitality Human Resources and Resort Management.

  • Write an article for Developments, .5 each. You can write an "in my experience" article. This could be a narrative on what you got out of attending an ARDA meeting; how you handled a negative experience and turn it in to a positive one; special events that you hold at your resorts to show owner appreciation; unique ways you market your resort; etc. You could also write for our "Point of View" column, in which readers share their feelings on different components of the industry. If you have any questions or ideas you would like to run past our editor, you can email Kathryn Mullan.

  • Volunteer as a speaker at one of ARDA's meetings or with the AIF Speaker's Bureau, .1 each.

  • Participate in an ARDA Committee, meaning you'll be at the annual convention and fall conference and volunteer to futher the committee's goals, .25 per year.

  • Apply to be an awards judge if you have over 10 years of industry experience, .25 per year.

  • Industry related licenses: Real Estate Broker's License - 0.25 credits, CAM License - 0.5 credits, PCAM License - 0.75 credits.

Step 3. Apply! Once you have reached 6 credits and worked in the industry for at least 2 years, you are eligible for your ARP designation; 10 credits and at least 5 years for your RRP designation, you are eligible to apply for your ARP or RRP designation and earn the recognition you deserve with a lapel pin, certificate and acknowledgement during the annual convention and in Developments.  There is no additional test to get your ARP or RRP- just some paperwork to show that you have earned the necessary credits.

Deadlines are February 15th & September 15th of each year.
