In total, the
U.S. timeshare industry supported an estimated $77 billion of
consumer and business spending; 588,800 full- and part-time jobs; more
than $25 billion in salaries, wages, and related income; and over $10
billion in tax revenues in 2007, according to the latest AIF
research, Economic
Impact of the Timeshare Industry on the
U.S.Economy, 2008
edition.
Compared to the 2002 results,
the industry’s output impact increased by $26.8 billion;
employment increased by 81,700 jobs; salaries, wages, and related income
increased by $8.0 billion; and tax revenues increased by $3.4 billion.
This represents an overall increase of 53.6 percent in the
industry’s output impact; an increase of 16.1 percent in
employment; an increase of 46.3 percent in salaries, wages, and related
income; and an increase of 49.5 percent in tax revenues.
