Timeshare Sales Volume Continues to Grow

According to the newly published State of the Vacation Timeshare Industry: United States Study 2015 Edition, the U.S. timeshare industry enjoyed solid growth in 2014. Total sales volume increased more than 4% from 7.6 billion in 2013 to $7.9 billion in 2014. The chart below displays a trend for sales volume over the past five years. Sales volume has increased by almost 25% since 2010—an average of 6% annually.

Timeshare sales volume peaked at $10.6 billion in 2007 and fell significantly in the next two years, due to the recession—bottoming out at $6.3 billion in 2009. Since then, the industry has undergone steady growth. 2014 marks the fifth straight year of increases in sales volume.
