Timeshare Sales Volume Growth

According to the recently release AIF 2016 State of the Vacation Timeshare Industry report, the U.S. timeshare industry enjoyed strong growth in 2015. In particular, sales volume increased by nearly 9% from $7.9 billion in 2014 to $8.6 billion in 2015. This is the second largest increase percentagewise since the recession. The study also discusses the trend of sales volume over the past five years. Sales volume has increased by more than 33% since 2011 – an average of 7% annually.  

 The study was conducted by Ernst & Young on behalf of the AIF in early 2016 among 1,547 recognized timeshare resorts to provide an overview of the state of the timeshare industry in the U.S.. Responses were received from 661 resorts, representing a 43% response rate.
