2013 Fall Conference
November 13-15, 2013
The Fairmont Washington, DC
Fall Conference is the annual opportunity for attendees to learn issues that are fundamental to the industry’s health and growth. The conference kicked-off on Wednesday with a busy day of committee meetings followed by the Opening Night Reception sponsored by II and the Trustee Foundation Dinner sponsored by First American Title Insurance Company at The Anderson House. Networking opportunities abounded at these events and throughout the day.
On Thursday committee meetings continued along with educational programming. During lunch, sponsored by ARDA-ROC, attendees heard from U.S. Senator Kelly Ayotte) (R-NH). The afternoon was full of educational programming which was kicked off with a session on the new VacationBetter.org website where a sneak peak was given and attendees were able to give input. Next up was a panel of Attorney's General on the secondary market and how the industry can work to make the market safer for their owners. Finally the keynote speaker Kevin Hassett, Senior Fellow and Director of Economic Policy Studies with American Enterprise Institute, talked about how the government shutdown affected the economy and other important economic issues. Thursday then concluded with a Reception sponsored by RCI.
On the last day of the conference Charlie Cook, Editor and Publisher of The Cook Political Report, Columnist for the National Journal was the keynote speaker for a special general session breakfast honoring Chairman’s League members. There was then a special event for the Chairman's League Members where they participated in roundtable discussions with ARDA's past, current and future Chairmen.
In these turbulent economic times, it is pertinent to know updated issues facing our industry on both federal and state levels, as well as network within core members of ARDA leadership and committee teams. Committees play an integral role in the association’s business and industry positions and can only be strong and representative if members participate. If you are not currently involved in an ARDA committee or were unable to attend Fall Conference, you are invited to drop in on any of the open meetings at ARDA World 2014, the Annual Convention & Exposition, and consider becoming a member of a committee.
Save the Date! The 2014 ARDA Fall Conference will be November 12-14. Check back in the summer for more information.
