ARDA Government Affairs
ARDA serves as the voice of the timeshare industry and its more than four million owners in Washington and in state capitols across the county.
The ARDA Government Affairs team has a strong record of successfully advocating on behalf of policies allowing for the vitality and continued growth of the industry while protecting the vacation ownership experience. With the support of volunteer leadership, Government Affairs works with legislators and regulators at all levels of government to educate policy makers and ensure fair treatment across the broad range of issues that impact the industry.
Member advocacy is provided in the following ways:
The Federal Issues Committee monitors federal legislation and rules concerning timesharing, subdivided land, real estate licensing, property management licensing, telemarketing, general marketing and promotion, and taxes (sales, property, and occupancy) affecting its members.
ARDA Liaison: Sandra DePoy, Vice President of Federal Affairs
The State Legislative Committee (SLC) monitors state legislation and rules concerning timesharing, subdivided land, real estate licensing, marketing and promotions, and taxes (sales, property, and occupancy) affecting its members.

The ARDA Resort Owners Coalition (ARDA-ROC) is the first line of defense against legislation that may negatively impact timeshare owners.
