Republican Clement “Butch” Otter was re-elected to a second term as Idaho Governor in 2010. Republicans also hold sizeable majorities in both the Senate and the House. In the Senate, Republicans retained a 28 – 7 margin. Republicans lost 5 seats in the House but still enjoy a 57 – 13 majority.

The Senate is led by President Pro Tem Brent Hill and the House is led by Speaker Lawrence Denney. The Idaho Legislature convenes January 9, 2012.
