Democrat John Kitzhaber won a tight race for Governor with Democrats maintaining a narrow majority of 16 to 14 in the Senate, losing two seats in the 2010 election. In the House the two parties ended up with a 30 to 30 tie, with six Democratic seats lost. The Legislature opens February 1, 2012.
