About Jerry

Jerry has earned both the Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA) certification from the American Hotel & Lodging Association and the Registered Resort Professional (RRP) designation from ARDA. Jerry began his hospitality career in the mid-1960’s. In the mid 1980’s, he served as the vice president and general manager of Orange Lake Country Club, where he was responsible for the day-to-day operations, marketing and sales, and the operations of the resort’s home owners’ association (HOA).

He founded PRO Management in 1990 and remains intimately involved in property management and homeowner association affairs. He has served as the chairman forARDA-Arizona, speaker of several ARDAregional management seminars and currently serves as the Chairman of the HOA Outreach Committee. He also serves on the Resort Management Committee and Membership Development Committee. He was honored with the ARDA-ACE (ARDACircleof Excellence) Volunteer Award in 2002.

“In the late 1970’s, I became associated with a project in Sarasota, Florida, which eventually converted into a timeshare resort, Limetree Beach Resort, located on Lido Key. I had the honor of becoming the first chairman of the Board of this timeshare plan’s homeowners’ association (HOA). In one form or the other, I have been directly involved with timeshare plan HOAs ever since.

For many years, I had the privilege of authoring a weekly column entitled, “With Regards...”, published on the former Internet newspaper known as “The Timeshare Beat.” I have recycled many of those articles here under the new title, “Experience Has Taught Me”. The articles are reflections of my own experiences as a member of HOA Boards, holding a variety of officer positions, service on many HOA committees, and my unique background in having to view both sides of the mutually beneficial relationship between HOAs and management entities. We hope you find these first offerings not only of interest but beneficial, too, and that you revisit this Web site as new articles are posted.”
