Howard Nusbaum, RRP
President & Chief Executive Officer
Howard C. Nusbaum has served as president and CEO of the American Resort Development Association (ARDA) since 2000. His current role at ARDA includes serving as president of the ARDA Board of Directors, the ARDA International Foundation (AIF) Board of Directors, and the ARDA-ROC Executive Committee. He also serves as publisher for ARDA’s Developments magazine, the “voice of the vacation ownership industry.”
Over the past thirty years, Howard has held executive hotel positions in the private sector, as well as executive positions in not-for-profit association management. Prior to his career with ARDA, he served as director of corporate and industry relations for the American Hotel & Lodging Association and executive vice president of the Ohio Hotel & Lodging Association. Before entering association management in 1990, Howard was vice president of marketing for Janus Hotels and Resorts.
Beyond ARDA, he serves on the Board of Directors of the U.S. Travel Association. He is a frequent speaker on financial, international, and vacation ownership topics—both domestically and internationally. Howard has written guest editorials for and is often interviewed by hospitality and industry publications. He also participates on the editorial board as a contributing editor to Hotelexecutive.com.
Sandra DePoy, RRP
Senior Vice President, Federal & Regulatory Affairs
As ARDA’s Senior Vice President for Federal Affairs, Sandra “Sam” Yartin DePoy primarily works to advance the Association’s legislative agenda on Capitol Hill and in the Executive Branch of government. Sam closely monitors regulatory activities by working with the Federal Trade Commission, Federal Communications Commission, Federal Election Commission, as well as the Department of Housing and Urban Development. She joined ARDA in 1999 as Director of Federal Relations for ARDA-ROC and ARDA-PAC.
No stranger to the real estate and financial services industry, Sam has served as Director of Political Affairs for the Mortgage Bankers Association of America (MBA) and Director of Government Affairs for the National Association of Realtors.
Darla S. Zanini, RRP
Executive Vice President, ARDA International Foundation (AIF)
With more than 30 years’ experience in the vacation timeshare industry, Darla serves as the Executive Vice President for the ARDA International Foundation (AIF). She oversees the production of timeshare industry research, as well as the development of education programming for industry professionals and university partners.
Prior to joining the AIF in 2001, Darla served as Vice President of Business Development at RCI. She is a graduate of Ball State University.
Vice President, Regulatory Affairs
Robert is ARDA’s Vice President of Regulatory Affairs and oversees advocacy objectives to increase positive regulatory legislation that will support the timeshare industry, its owners and governing entities.
Prior to joining ARDA, Robert served as Senior Assistant Attorney General in Florida’s office of Attorney General for six years. As a well-seasoned law expert, Robert’s focus was in Consumer Protection, Multi-State Enforcement and Privacy Division. He has led an impactful charge with the enforcement of the Florida Unfair and Deceptive Trade Practices Act, as well as numerous vital state and federal statutes, and rules and regulations. He has been instrumental to several joint investigations and enforcement actions with the Federal Trade Commission, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the Department of Business and Professional Regulation, the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, the Office of Financial Regulation, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and other federal and state regulatory and law enforcement agencies.
No stranger to the legal practice, Robert also held his own private practice handling complex commercial litigation in state and federal courts, as well as corporate and transactional law, intellectual property law and real estate transactions.
Jenny Ochtera Davlin
Vice President, Member Experience & Business Development
As ARDA’s Vice President of Member Experience and Business Development, Jenny is responsible for membership and sponsorship growth, and the value delivered to members through partnerships, products, services and overall engagement with ARDA. She is also tasked with maximizing operations, systems, practices, and efficiencies within ARDA’s organization. Jenny writes for Developments Magazine with her monthly Member Matters column and participates on many committees, councils, and task forces within the ARDA membership community.
Prior to joining ARDA, Jenny enjoyed over 25 years in timeshare and leisure real estate, holding executive leadership positions in sales, marketing and operations for branded, independent, private, and publicly traded companies. She is also recognized as an industry adviser and consultant, and has been an active member in ARDA since 1998. Jenny holds a B.S. degree from St. Lawrence University and a B.A. degree from Universite de Rouen.
Rob Dunn, RRP
Vice President, Finance & Administration
As Vice President of Finance and Administration, Rob oversees ARDA’s accounting and finances, as well as manages the daily administrative functions of the organization. Rob also serves as the staff liaison to the Audit and Investment Committees.
Prior to joining ARDA in 2000, Rob spent four years working as an independent auditor for Ernst & Young, and then ten years working in the association industry. Rob graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park in 1987 with a focus in accounting and economics, and earned his CPA that same year.
Catherine Lacey, RRP
Vice President, Meetings & Administration
Catherine Lacey is ARDA’s Vice President of Meetings and Conventions. She oversees all aspects of the association’s meetings (Convention, Fall Conference, Trustee Retreat, and Regional Meetings) and the ARDA awards program. Catherine is the liaison to ARDA’s Meetings Committee and Awards Committee. Catherine has been in the meetings industry for over 15 years and holds a B.A. degree from Roanoke College in Salem, VA.
Vice President of Marketing, Communications & Industry Relations
Peter Roth is ARDA’s Vice President of Marketing, Communications & Industry Relations and oversees all internal and external communication programs including: branding, digital/social, publications and public relations. In addition Peter serves as the staff liaison to ARDA’s Reputation Management and Investor Relations Councils and is the Executive Editor of Developments Magazine
Peter’s 25+ year career spans many roles and industries, all adding to the depth he brings to ARDA—from running a DC-based brand marketing and digital agency and brand management at Coca-Cola Nestle’ Refreshments Company and RJRNabisco, to travel and tourism with Sunday River Skiway Corporation. Peter holds a B.S. degree from Guilford College.
