The Global Alliance for Timeshare Excellence (GATE) was established in 1999 by the leaders of timeshare associations in the United States, Canada, Latin America, Europe and the Middle East, Australia, and South Africa to promote the timeshare industry around the world. Each association retains its own identity, but collectively, the associations seek to cooperate on issues of common concern in order to advance the growth of the timeshare industry worldwide, the interests of their members, and the consumers they serve.

 

Mission Statement

GATE seeks to serve as a resource to ensure that legislative and regulatory proposals are reasonable and conductive to the industry’s business. GATE also seeks to serve as a resource business in such a manner as to create positive public perception.

 

Key Objectives of the Alliance

  • Coordinating the views of the timeshare industry and its suppliers in the participant nations relative to any legislation and business regulations pertinent to their respective enterprises.
  • Advising their respective governments on ways to implement appropriate regulations related to the timeshare industry.
  • Stimulating, supporting, and coordinating cross-border business relationships between timeshare developers and suppliers located in member countries.
  • Seeking ways to maximize timeshare industry contributions to the consumers of timeshare and vacation ownership around the world.

The Global Alliance for Timeshare Excellence (GATE) was created by leaders of trade associations in the United States, Canada, Latin America, Europe and the Middle East, Argentina, South Africa, and Australia, who shall be considered the “charter members” of GATE, to promote the timeshare resort development industry around the world.  Read the Charter here.

The Global Alliance for Timeshare Excellence (GATE) and its members are committed to the highest standards and ethics in resort, vacation, recreational, residential, and community development for the benefit of the public.  To demonstrate that commitment, GATE has adopted this Code of Conduct.  Read the Code here.
