It was great seeing many of you at the Fall Leadership & Policy Forum. We hope that you enjoyed our fantastic speakers that gave insight and perspective on the latest in D.C. politics.
This meeting is also our opportunity to finalize our proactive legislative agenda. We are planning four bills in 2024 on behalf of the industry and owners. A brief summary of the bills is below.
- CO – Seeking an exemption to a problematic collections bill that passed in 2022 that has increased the costs for timeshare HOAs.
- FL – Tools for HOAs and managers addressing the management of facilities, estoppel, and the ability to deal with disruptive guests.
- MA – Continued effort to address the termination or extension of expiring timeshare plans in the Commonwealth.
- VA – Improving the existing timeshare plan termination law and adding the ability to terminate a plan partially.
