The Timeshare Industry Today
President/CEO Jason Gamel
The recent devastation left behind Hurricane Ida was a stark reminder that hurricane season is in full swing and will be something we contend with for months to come. First and foremost, our thoughts, prayers, and support are with those negatively affected by Ida, as well as the first responders and other community leaders who are helping to restore life to where it was a week ago. I also know that timeshare resort managers and crisis management teams from big to small are working with their owners and guests to make sure they are all safe and can travel to their favorite vacation destinations as soon as possible. We are fortunate to have some of the best in the business working in the timeshare industry, so we know they will all be in good hands.
While we are constantly thinking about the future of ARDA and the industry, we have indeed paused to be thankful for all that we have, including our outstanding ARDA members. They make getting up every day and working on their behalf extremely rewarding.
Thanks so much for your support, and we hope that you all had a safe and vacation filled summer.

Federal and State Legislation
The ARDA Legislative Policy Council (LPC) is busy putting together the industry’s advocacy plan for next year. With only a few key timeshare states still in session the summer provides just a little bit of calm to do the necessary preparation for the 2022 state legislative sessions. If there is an issue you are aware of that affects the industry or owners, please reach out to a member of the LPC team.
For more information on the LPC and how to get involved in legislative advocacy, please visit the ARDA website.
