ARDA-Hawaii Donates $3,000 to The Legal Clinic
HONOLULU (March 26, 2024) – The Hawaii Chapter of the American Resort Development Association (ARDA) recently donated $3,000 to The Legal Clinic (TLC) in support of its efforts to provide immigrants and migrants with legal assistance.
Mitchell Imanaka, ARDA-Hawaii Chairman and managing principal of Imanaka Asato LLLC, said, “The Legal Clinic does valuable work to ensure justice for low-income immigrants and migrants in Hawaii through legal services, education and advocacy. Many people may not realize how very involved the organization has been in helping the many immigrant issues arising out of the Maui wildfires, and we’re proud to support them.”
Nearly one in five Hawai‘i residents are immigrants, and over half of the state’s immigrants are naturalized U.S. citizens, yet access to affordable or free immigration legal services is very limited. The Legal Clinic aims to achieve hope, dignity and justice for immigrants and migrants in Hawai‘i. For more information, visit https://www.tlchawaii.org.
ARDA-Hawaii is the local chapter of the American Resort Development Association, the national timeshare trade association. Hawaii’s timeshare units account for 13 percent of the state’s visitor lodging inventory and thousands of jobs. The organization is committed to supporting the communities in which its resorts are located through organized events, monetary and in-kind donations, and volunteerism.
