Leadership Changes at MasterCorp to Drive Future Growth and Innovation

Orlando, FL – MasterCorp, a leading hospitality services provider, announces significant changes to its leadership team, effective January 1, 2024, to drive continued growth and innovation. These changes reflect the company’s commitment to strategic development and ensuring a strong foundation for the future.

Gary Byrd Assumes New Role as Executive Director for Grindstaff Family and MasterCorp

Gary Byrd, the current CEO and President of MasterCorp, will transition to a new role at the enterprise level. In his capacity as Executive Director for the Grindstaff family and MasterCorp, Mr. Byrd will provide crucial direction, vision, and strategic planning to ensure continuous growth and viability for years to come. As part of this transition, Mr. Byrd will step back from the day-to-day operations of MasterCorp. Nevertheless, he will continue to provide active oversight and will also participate in the MasterCorp Fiduciary Board, offering guidance and oversight.

Commenting on his new role, Gary Byrd stated, “I am excited about this new chapter and the opportunity to contribute to the long-term success of MasterCorp in a different capacity. The transition allows me to focus on broader strategic initiatives while continuing to play a key role in guiding the company and supporting Our People.”

Scott Schreiber Promoted to President of MasterCorp

Scott Schreiber, previously the Chief Administrative Officer at MasterCorp, has been promoted to the role of President. With over a decade of dedicated service to MasterCorp and four years as Chief Administrative Officer, Mr. Schreiber has demonstrated strong leadership and commitment to both the company’s people and its customers. In his new role, Mr. Schreiber will continue to report to Gary Byrd, working collaboratively to define and execute the company’s future vision.

Expressing confidence in Scott Schreiber’s capabilities, Gary Byrd stated, “Scott has been an integral part of MasterCorp’s success, and I am confident that he is the right person to lead the company into the future. His dedication and strategic mindset will drive continued excellence in our operations.”

John Luckett Joined MasterCorp as Chief Operations Officer

MasterCorp welcomed John Luckett as the new Chief Operations Officer on December 4, 2023. With over 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry, including a significant tenure at Kessler Hotels, where he served as COO, Mr. Luckett brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his new role. His achievements include numerous awards such as Marriott Hotel Opening of the Year (JW Marriott Savannah Plant Riverside District in 2021 and Grand Bohemian Lodge Greenville in 2023) and JW Marriott JR. Guest Experience Awards. Mr. Luckett is also a Certified Hotel Administrator through the American Hotel and Lodging Association.

Initially, John Luckett will focus on Hotel and Laundry operations at MasterCorp, gradually expanding his responsibilities to oversee all lines of business as well as operations and support services. Based in Orlando, he will report directly to Scott Schreiber.
