Owners’ love of their timeshare continues during pandemic
Enthusiasm for vaccine fuels Wall Street & expected to translate to vacation industry

As the travel and tourism industry continues to recover slowly in 2020, the timeshare industry once again shows its resiliency despite the ill-effect from the COVID pandemic. According to the 2020 Back to Normal Barometer (Wave 14) sponsored by the ARDA International Foundation (AIF), timeshare owners view their timeshare as a safer option when planning vacations, with nearly 60% of timeshare owners having used timeshare (taken timeshare vacation/stayed at a timeshare resort) since the pandemic started.
The recent survey also confirmed that timeshare owners are more likely to travel during the holiday season than travelers in general.
As markets continue to respond positively to the news of the first COVID-19 vaccines and new therapeutics that will soon be released, we anticipate more people adding timeshare to their vacation portfolio and that timeshare will continue to be a part of our economic recovery.
If you are interested in learning more about current travel trends and the timeshare industry, the Back to Normal Researchers will host a webinar for ARDA members on December 8th.
