Massanutten Resort’s Bike Park Celebrates 10th Anniversary With July 25th “Decades on Dirt” Anniversary Event
MASSANUTTEN, Va. (June 25, 2026) – Massanutten Resort, a premier family resort in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley, is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its Bike Park with a day-long community event. Taking place Saturday, July 25, the “Decades on Dirt” anniversary celebration will feature discounted lift tickets, bike races, educational clinics, live music, and special programming honoring the people and partnerships behind one of the Mid-Atlantic’s leading mountain biking destinations.
“Ten years in, we have more trail, stronger partnerships, and a dedicated team that didn’t exist when we started,” said Kameron Tucker, mountain sports director at Massanutten Resort. “Massanutten is home for a lot of people; whether they live down the road or make the trip every season, and that’s not something we take lightly. We’re seeing more people on the mountain than ever, and we love that. There’s a lot more to build here.”
“Decades on Dirt” is a tribute to the riders and community partners who have helped shape the Bike Park over the past decade. From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on July 25, the Bike Park is offering $10 lift tickets along with a full schedule of activities designed to make the celebration accessible to everyone.
Massanutten’s mountain biking story began long before the Bike Park opened. In 1997, the resort hosted a UCI Grundig Downhill World Cup, putting Massanutten on the international mountain biking map and establishing a legacy that lives on today through its iconic World Cup trail. Over the past decade, the Bike Park has evolved into Mass Parks, a rider-focused trail system built on the belief that great trails should feel like they belong to the people who ride them. From first-timers building confidence on beginner terrain to experienced riders tackling technical features, Mass Parks has become a place where cyclists of all abilities can progress, connect, and return year after year.
A key part of Mass Park’s growth is Massanutten Resort’s longstanding partnership with the Shenandoah Valley Bicycle Coalition (SVBC). Through the Western Slope Trail Plan, the resort and SVBC have opened thousands of acres of private land for public trail access while creating a model for public-private trail stewardship. For more than 15 years, the coalition has worked alongside land managers, trail users, and local partners to expand and maintain trails while balancing recreation, conservation, and community needs. Beyond trail development, the partnership supports year-round community programming, including women’s rides, weekly dig days, youth cycling teams, and local races that strengthen Massanutten’s connection to the local outdoor community and inspire the next generation of riders.
The Bike Park’s 10th anniversary celebration extends beyond July 25 with opportunities to get involved throughout the season, including the Locals Cup Series, limited-edition 10th anniversary jerseys, a community photo contest, rider storytelling initiatives, and a curated photo archive.
