With a checklist like that, I must be talking about the July ARDAvetnure meeting in Colorado Springs! If you weren’t able to make it, well, unfortunately I can’t lie and say you didn’t miss an amazing experience. It was a great opportunity for:
members to have input in the future direction of ARDA
networking with the top decision makers and product/service providers in the industry
accommodations and experiences at the Broadmoor
Good news for everyone who couldn’t be there is that there is plenty of time to plan to attend the 2024 ARDAventure meeting at the Lodge at Torrey Pines! There will be more information on that meeting later, but for now, please enjoy this edition of the Inside Look, which includes a number of important legislative updates and happenings from around the industry.

Thank you to all of our VIP Members who attended our ARDAventure VIP Retreat at the Broadmoor in mid-July. We had an exceptional time discussing the industry future and networking!

In Issue 38, we wrote about our four industry bills sitting on governors’ desks waiting to be signed. All four have now been signed and become law. Below is a list of those and other proactive bills passed in 2023 by the Legislative Policy Council (LPC) team on behalf of the industry and owners.
Florida House Bill 869 (Amendment) Hawaii Senate Bill 798
Georgia House Bill 182 Hawaii Senate Bill 799
Hawaii House Bill 11 Virginia House Bill 1955
In July, the LPC hosted a webinar titled Updates from the Telemarketing Front, discussing the latest developments and trends relating to the TCPA, mini-TCPAs, and telemarketing regulations. Greg Szewczyk from ARDA member Ballard Spahr gave an excellent overview of the notable changes and legislative trends in this area of law.
Lastly, it seems like most sessions have just adjourned (I know it does to us!), but next month on August 22nd, we will be meeting with the LPC participants to discuss our advocacy plan for 2024. We look forward to hearing from members and strategizing how to continue to further our legislative and regulatory objectives.
For more information on the LPC, our legislative efforts in 2023, or how to get involved in legislative advocacy, please visit the ARDA website or contact any team member.
