February 1 – February 28 is Black History Month, and we’re celebrating the remarkable contributions of individuals in our industry. Learn more about their inspiring stories and insights by reading below.

Q: What does Black History Month mean to you?

A: Personally, Black History Month is a meaningful time of reflection and celebration. I participate in community cycling events, riding through our neighborhood to honor our heritage and foster a sense of unity. This brings me pride and a deeper connection to my community.

Q: Who are your biggest inspirations throughout Black history, and why?

A: My biggest inspiration is Michelle Obama. Her leadership, dedication to education, and advocacy for women and girls resonate deeply with me. Her example inspires me to mentor others and give back to my community. In my own journey, I strive to embody the same values of empowerment and resilience that she represents.

Q: What advice would you give to young Black professionals interested in following a similar career path?

A: My advice is to seek out mentors and actively engage in networking. Never hesitate to ask questions and embrace every learning opportunity. Bring your unique perspective to the field, because diversity enriches hospitality. Above all, stay resilient, be adaptable, and continue uplifting and supporting others along the way.
