June is Pride Month, and we’re celebrating the remarkable contributions of individuals in our industry. Learn more about their inspiring stories and insights by reading below.
Q: How do you celebrate Pride Month, and what does it mean to you?
A: I celebrate Pride Month by participating in local events and engaging in conversations at work about visibility and inclusion. Pride Month is both a celebration of identity and a reminder of the ongoing work toward equality. It’s a time to reflect on the progress we’ve made, honor those who came before us, and commit to making space for every part of the LGBTQIA+ spectrum.
Q: What makes you proud to be part of your company during Pride Month?
A: I’m proud to be part of a company that doesn’t treat Pride as a marketing moment but sees it as an opportunity to deepen our year-round commitment to inclusion. By supporting LGBTQIA+ employees, my company demonstrates that our values aren’t seasonal—they’re foundational.
Q: If you could share one message with the next generation of LGBTQIA+ professionals, what would it be?
A: You belong—exactly as you are. Your identity is a strength, not something to hide or downplay. The workplace is evolving because people like you are showing up and advocating for authenticity, equity, and change. Keep pushing boundaries, asking questions, and building the workplaces you want to see.
Q: Can you share a time when your workplace actively supported LGBTQIA+ inclusion, and what impact that had?
A: Last year, leadership was involved in a virtual event that examined the challenges of being queer in 2024, along with other events like PrideFest Kissimmee and the Space Coast Rainbow Run 5K.
Q: What gives you hope for the future of LGBTQIA+ inclusion in our industry?
A: What gives me hope is the growing number of leaders, especially from underrepresented backgrounds, who are unapologetically advocating for change. Inclusion is no longer just a conversation; it’s becoming a measurable priority. Younger generations are more vocal, diverse, and empowered, and that energy is reshaping the industry for the better.
