September 15th – October 15th is Hispanic Heritage Month, and we’re celebrating the remarkable contributions of individuals in our industry. Learn more about their inspiring stories and insights by reading below.

Q: Can you share about your cultural identity?

A: My parents are Puerto Rican. They moved to Brooklyn in the 1970s and met each other while working on Wall Street. They raised my brother and me with big family dinners and events, waking up early every Saturday to clean the house, and attending church every Sunday. Our family unit was tight-knit and very religious, and education was paramount.

Q: What does Hispanic Heritage Month mean to you, and how has your heritage shaped who you are today?

A: Hispanic Heritage Month makes me feel seen, and it highlights the rich and beautiful aspects of my culture. My upbringing instilled the respect, dedication, hard work, and compassion that I take with me every day. From the music to the food, I wear my Hispanic heritage as a badge of honor in full display for my family, friends, and coworkers.

Q: What advice — personal or professional — would you give to other Latinx professionals?

A: Let your work do the talking. Nothing can beat you if you have the drive to be better than you were yesterday. Go above and beyond. There is no better sleep than sleep after a hard day’s work. Show compassion when you can and strength when needed. Never waver in your convictions, and never take anything for granted.

Q: What impact has your heritage had on your career journey?

A: Navigating spaces where I was the only Hispanic voice helped me develop a thick skin and strong sense of self. Growing up in an immigrant household molded me into a young man who learned the value of hard work and perseverance from an early age. My heritage emphasized respect, humility, and education, which has been the bedrock of my career.
